COLOMBO : Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena handed over a cheque amounting to SLRs. 2,653,125.00 to the spouse of late K P Manjula Antony on Tuesday March 16, at the of the Foreign Ministry in the capital.
Late Mr. K P Manjula Anthony was working at the Said Bin Sultan Naval Base, Wudam, Sultanate of Oman and passed away on 19 July 2020 due to heart attack. The above cheque was received from the Ministry of Defense of Oman, the employer of the deceased, as the final settlement of gratuity and death compensation.
The Foreign Minister had a cordial discussion with the family members of the deceased. The spouse of late Manjula Antony has expressed her sincere gratitude towards the Foreign Ministry.
