COLOMBO : A special introduction ceremony for a three-month premarital guidance course, along with a certificate awarding ceremony for successful participants, was held on Sunday, 20 September 2026, at 9.00 a.m. at Al-Irfan Central College, Polgahawela.
The programme was organized by LifeBond Social Service Organization in collaboration with the administration of Bandawa Madalagama Jumma Mosque. The three-month course, titled “Premarital Guidance from an Islamic Perspective,” is designed to equip young men and women preparing for marriage with essential Islamic guidance, knowledge and practical skills needed for a successful family life.
Janab Muhammad Zakeen Muhammad Feroz, President of the Kollonnawa Mosque Federation, Chairman of an HR company and Head of LifeBond’s Premarital Project, participated as the Chief Guest.
Among the distinguished guests were Alhaj M.R.M. Zarook, Director of LifeBond Social Service Organization and President of the All Ceylon Ahadiyya Federation; Alhaj M.A.H.M. Fawaz, Chairman of the Administrative Board of Bandawa Madalagama Jumma Mosque; and Ash-Sheikh M.R.M. Rihan Naleemi, Treasurer of the mosque’s Administrative Board.
The programme also featured Ash-Sheikh Akram Abdul Samad, Curriculum Designer and Course Coordinator of LifeBond Social Service Organization, and Ash-Sheikh Muhammad Fakeehudeen, Director of the organization, who served as the principal resource persons.
They delivered insightful sessions on areas including knowledge and preparation required before marriage, readiness for family life, husband-and-wife relationships, family responsibilities, and the foundations of an Islamic family life. The sessions emphasized the importance of acquiring appropriate knowledge and developing the necessary understanding and skills before entering into marriage.
The event was coordinated and conducted by I.M. Irshad, Manager of LifeBond Social Service Organization.
More than 100 participants, including parents, students enrolled in the course and well-wishers, attended the programme. Despite heavy rainfall, a large number of participants attended with keen interest, reflecting the growing importance attached to premarital education and family-life preparation.
LifeBond Social Service Organization continues to conduct similar programmes across Sri Lanka with the objective of providing young men and women preparing for marriage with Islamic guidance, essential family-life knowledge and practical skills before they enter into married life.
Through these initiatives, LifeBond seeks to promote responsible marriages, healthy family relationships and strong families founded on Islamic values and mutual understanding.
