COLOMBO : The 160th Police Day of the Sri Lanka Police was also celebrated at a special religious ceremony at the Grand Mosque in Colombo, in collaboration with the Colombo 12, Dam Street Police Station.
The event was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Mosque, Thahir Raseen. Among those present were the Acting Officer-in-Charge of the Dam Street Police Station, I.P. Rasmendar; the Officer-in-Charge of the Administration Division, S.I. Priyantha; the Officer-in-Charge of the Environmental and Community Divisions, S.I. Premarathna; and several other police officers.
The Treasurer of the Mosque, A. Fazal Mohideen, Assistant Treasurer Jowfar Siddique, and other trustees also attended the event.
The welcome address was delivered by the Treasurer, Fazal Mohideen, while a special address on behalf of the Sri Lanka Police was delivered by Police Officer S.I. Priyantha.
A special Dua prayer was conducted by the Chief Imam of the Mosque, Moulavi S.M. Rizwan Bahji, praying for the continued dedicated service and well-being of police officers, as well as for peace and harmony among the people of the country.
