COLOMBO : The government has provided an opportunity for eligible journalists to purchase houses constructed with modern facilities in the Kottawa area under a concessionary housing scheme funded by the Chinese government.
The special housing programme is aimed at journalists with long-standing experience in the media industry.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have at least 10 years of continuous experience in the media industry.
- Applicants must be between 30 and 60 years of age.
- Applicants must possess an official Media Identity Card issued by the Department of Government Information (DGI) for 2025 or 2026.
