COLOMBO : As the Coordinator for High-Level Quran Competitions, the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs (DMRCA), laid red carpet welcome to the nation’s pride, Al-Hafiz Imdad Iyas, who secured a prestigious 3rd place (Category 5) at the 46th King Abdulaziz International Holy Quran Competition in Makkah, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance.
He was awarded 55,000 SAR (~LKR 4.9 Milthe lion) for this outstanding global achievement—following his 1st place triumph at our National Quran Competition earlier this January.
Welcome reception was joined by prominent businessman Muslim Salahudeen, DMRCA Assistant Director Mr. Afros Ahmad, iMufthi Mursi Cultural Delopvelopment officer and Cordinater Coordinater to Competition and Secretary Mr. L.I.A.M. Shahjahan, along with esteemed lecturers from Rajagiriya Mawahibul Uloom Madrasa and distinguished guests.
