COLOMBO :” National Scout Poson Zone, organised by the Sri Lanka Scout Association with the support of state and private institutions and under the
coordination of the Presidential Secretariat, was officially opened yesterday (29) evening by the
Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr Nalinda Jayatissa.
The Poson Zone features a depiction commemorating the arrival of Arahant Mahinda Thera in Sri
Lanka, an exhibition of Poson lanterns, a Bhakthi Ghee recital, and dansals offering free
refreshments and meals.
Among those present at the event were Governor of the Western Province Hanif Yusoof, Secretary
to the President Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Senior Additional Secretaries to the President
Roshan Gamage and K. N. M. Kumarasinghe, President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, Senior
Counsel Rajeev Amarasuriya, and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Scout
