CHENNAI – A total of 30 Indian fishermen who were released from Sri Lankan prisons have reached Chennai Tuesday , May (02).
The fishermen from Rameswaram and Karaikal were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy for trespassing into international waters.
They were later produced before court and were held in prison.
After the intervention of diplomatic channels, they were released to the Indian authorities and sent back to India, according to Indian media reports.
