COLOMBO :The Ambassador of Russia to Sri Lanka, H.E. Levan Dzhagaryan, presented the commemorative medal “80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945” to our dear Mr. Buddhapriya Ramanayake for his significant contribution to organizing events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in 2025. It is especially symbolic that the award certificate was signed by Vladimir Putin, underscoring the high level of recognition of his achievements.
Mr. Buddhapriya Ramanayake is a true legend of the Russian House in Colombo. For more than 25 years, he has remained a guardian of its traditions; a person who has devoted his life to strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between Sri Lanka and Russia.
An uoutstanding graduate of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, and a great friend of our country. He holds several important public positions:
- President of the Association of Sri Lankan Graduates from Socialist Countries
- Secretary General, The Centre of Russian Geographical Society in Sri Lanka.
- Vice President of the International Chamber of Commerce, SL
- Ambassador, Russian Education and Science.
This award is a well-deserved recognition of his many years of dedicated work, commitment, and sincere love for Russia.
