Special security and traffic arrangements have been implemented in the Maligawatte area in view of the India–Pakistan cricket match scheduled to be held at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium on 15 February 2025.
Police have urged the public to cooperate with security personnel during inspections and avoid bringing prohibited items such as sharp objects, fireworks, glass bottles, or large bags into the stadium. Spectators are advised to arrive early, follow parking and traffic instructions, and limit unnecessary travel in and around the area during peak hours. Any suspicious activity should be immediately reported to the nearest police officer.
Authorities stated that additional police officers have been deployed, while vehicle checks and special monitoring operations are being conducted to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow. Traffic diversions may be implemented if required.
Officials emphasized that these measures are precautionary to maintain a peaceful and secure environment for both cricket fans and residents.
