GAMPOLA — The Lanka Business Alliance conducted a Business Awareness Session at FFCC Auditorium, Gampola, Friday December 26 under the theme of Gampola Business Community Determined for a Better Future.
Flood waters rising beyond expectations, merchandise floating like toy boats, and business premises submerged, Gampola had never imagined devastation unfolding before its very eyes. The Ditwah Cyclone proved otherwise, leaving behind deep scars and sorrow. More than 500 business establishments, ranging from small traders to large enterprises, bore the brunt of the disaster. Yet, the resilient spirit of the Gampola business community refused to be defeated.
In response, the Lanka Business Alliance (LBA) conducted a thought provoking Business Awareness Session aimed at empowering affected entrepreneurs with renewed energy, introducing modern technology, enhanced skills, and sustainable development plans. Over one hundred businessmen actively participated in the session, reflecting their determination to rebuild stronger than before.
The session was conducted by Lanka Business Alliance Chairman Rifas Jabbar, along with Vice Presidents Fathhi Mohamed and Ihsan Wahid. Adding further inspiration, Ash Sheikh Abdur Rahman, Deputy President of Sri Lanka Jama’athe Islami, addressed the gathering, presenting a holistic perspective on calamities and motivating participants to persevere in business with faith, resilience, and foresight.
The event was jointly organized by the Gampola Business Federation and Sri Lanka Jama’athe Islami Up Country Region.
