COLOMbO : In recognition of his expertise and dedication, Dr. M H M Hassan has been appointed Senior Registrar in Cardiology Unit at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL), Colombo. Dr. M. H. M. Hassan is a distinguished medical professional whose academic excellence, perseverance, and commitment to patient care have earned him recognition as one of the promising physicians of his generation.
Dr. Hassan began his primary education at Beruwala Harrow International School and continued his schooling up to the Ordinary Level at Harrow International School, Colombo. He completed his Advanced Level studies at Lyceum International School, Nugegoda, where his strong interest in medicine and science began to take firm shape.
His dedication and academic brilliance led him to pursue his MBBS degree at the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM), Colombo, where he graduated as a First Class Gold Medalist, a remarkable achievement that reflected both intellectual excellence and disciplined hard work.
Following graduation, Dr. Hassan completed his medical internship at Base Hospital, Puttalam, gaining valuable hands-on clinical experience in a busy healthcare setting. He subsequently served his post-internship period at the District General Hospital, Mannar, where his service contributed meaningfully to patient care in a resource-challenged region.
Driven by a passion for internal medicine and advanced clinical training, Dr. Hassan successfully passed MD Part 1 in 2022 and was appointed as a Medical Registrar at Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital. His professional journey continued with further distinction when he successfully completed MD Part 2, a major milestone in postgraduate medical training.
