COLOMBO : Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya will be the chief guest at the 75th Annual Convention of the All Ceylon YMMA Conference which will be held in Colombo on Monday , 20th October .
In addition to well-wishers and guests ,the annual convention which will be attended by representatives from more than 125 YMMA branches throughout the island will be chaired by its National President Amhar Shariff.
Deputy Speaker Dr Rizvi Salih will be the guest of honour at the event .
The national president will deliver the welcome address and the premier will make her keynote address before distributing the awards to the winners . Dr Salih is also slated to make a speech during the. programme .
Speaking to Colombo Times , chairman of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations and past president of the organization Ashraff Rumi said that it’s going to be a grand function where senior members of the organization will be honored for their distinguished services.
The awards include personality of the year, lifetime achievement award, Platinum Awards to members who have completed 50 years of services and others who have rendered exemplary services to the nation will also be honored .
Founded by the Late Senator A M . A . Azeez, YMMA has been the leading Muslim youth organization which is actively engaged in uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the community and also gearing the youths to be useful citizens of the society to contribute to the development of the nation .
