RIYADH — In celebration of Saudi Arabia’s 95th National Day, held under the theme “United We Stand,” Diriyah today launched a series of exceptional events that embody the depth of national pride in the birthplace of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Blending historical authenticity with innovation, the celebrations reflect the timeless values rooted in this land, reaffirming Diriyah’s stature as a global symbol of heritage and civilization, while honoring the unity and solidarity led by King Abdulaziz.
Festivities will continue tomorrow, Tuesday, across various areas of Diriyah. Highlights include a bikers’ parade in collaboration with the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, followed by a military march featuring more than 500 participants from different branches of the armed forces in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Saudi Royal Guard Command, along with camel riders, horsemen, and classic vehicles.
At the historic At-Turaif district, the heart of Diriyah, visitors will enjoy performances of the grand Saudi Ardah by over 150 performers in front of Salwa Palace, reciting patriotic poems that express unity and solidarity. The district will also host a wide range of cultural activities, including Najdi calligraphy workshops, the “Hal Al-Hay” program presenting live poetry across At-Turaif’s sites, as well as cultural sessions highlighting the unification journey of the Kingdom and the legacy of King Abdulaziz, who united word and will under the banner of unity.
In Adhwaihrah, a photography exhibition will showcase rare glimpses from the life of King Abdulaziz, alongside workshops and interactive activities for all ages, complemented by a variety of traditional food stations.
At Bujairi Terrace, the “Unity” exhibition, held in collaboration with the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah), will narrate stories from the unification journey alongside the “Wall of Unity,” symbolizing national cohesion. The program also features Samri performances and a selection of interactive workshops.
Meanwhile, the Zallal area will host a collection of artisanal experiences, including handicrafts, henna, and Arabic calligraphy, offering visitors and residents of Diriyah a rich celebratory experience.
