COLOMBO : Kabir Hashim has been nominated as the new Chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA).
The nomination comes from the Opposition, following the resignation of NPP MP Aravinda Senaratne, who stepped down to allow the post to be handed over as part of a prior agreement.
Hashim’s appointment is expected to be formalized soon.
