COLOMBO : The three Commemorative Stamps, First Day and Commemorative leaflets issued for the National Vesak Festival were presented to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees on Tuesday ,May 12 by Mass Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.
Hence the pictures of the historic Buddhist temples in the North and East are depicted in the stamps presented yesterday. Arts created using the Sapumaldagaskada Temple in Vavuniya, Kaduruwagada Temple in Jaffna and Madukanda Temple of the Tooth in Vavuniya by Palith Gunasinghe have been depicted in these commemorative stamps in the Rs.10.00, Rs 15.00 and Rs 45.00 denominations Ven Maha Sanga including Chief Incumbent of Gangaramaya Ven Kirinde Assaji Thera, Minister G.
