COLOMBO – The Past Prefects’ Association (PPA) of Zahira College Colombo had organized the “NOLIMIT 17th Zahira Super 16 Soccer 7’s “championship for the 17th consecutive year. Which was held throughout the day at the Race Course Grounds on Saturday October 21 and Zahira College beat Althea International School in the final 4 nil to become the champions
Sixteen Leading schools from the country was took part of this tournament for the 17th year. Al – Hikma College Colombo, Alethea International School Colombo, Darussalaam College Colombo, De Mazenod College Kandana, Gateway College Colombo, Zahira College Gampola, Isipathana College Colombo, Jaffna Central College Jaffna, Lyceum International School Nugegoda, Maris Stella College Negombo, Royal College Colombo, St. Thomas’ College Colombo, St. Benedict’s College Colombo, St. Joseph’s College Colombo, T.B. Jayah Zahira College Colombo and Zahira College Colombo were participated at this tournament. The winning Champion Zahira College received rupees 30,000 cash award and Cup runners up Alethea International School received rupees 20, 000 cash award.
Mufaddal Ziyard of Zahira College received Most Valuable Player award, TB Jayah Zahira College Z.H.M. Amru received most Popular Player award Player of the Final Zahira College Abdul Azeez received rupees 10,000 cash award, Umar ShaKil of Gateway College received Highest Goal Keeper award and M.M.A. Musthaq of Zahira College received the Best Goal Keeper award (Mountain Bike) at this tournament.
Main Sponsor of the tournament NOLIMIT Marketing Manager Fawaz Mohamed presented champion trophy, cash award and gold medals to the winning team captain Mufaddad Ziyard and team members.
Zahira College Principal Trizviiy Marikkar, Board of Governor Chairman Fowzul Hameed, Secretary Alavi Mukthar, School Football Federation Secretary Disssanayake, Zahira College Sports Committee Chairman Naina Mohamed and Old Boys Association President N.M. Shiraz distributed awards to the wieners of the tournament.
