Young Voices Welcome Ramadan: Al Makthoom Students Hold Colorful Parade in Kinniya

COLOMBO -Students of Al Makthoom Educational Institution in Kinniya organized a vibrant children’s parade on Tuesday (17) at 4:30 p.m. to warmly welcome the holy month of Ramadan.

The procession commenced from the Rizwaniya Jumma Mosque in Maharoof Nagar and proceeded along Green Road before concluding at the Mancholai Jumma Mosque. The event drew large crowds, with parents accompanying the children and members of the public gathering along the streets to witness and welcome the colorful parade.

Children enthusiastically delivered Ramadan-themed messages over loudspeakers, filling the streets with reminders of the spiritual significance of the sacred month. Their voices echoed messages of faith, unity, and devotion, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and celebration.

The event concluded with an inspiring Ramadan sermon by iImam of Mancholai Mosque, Faisal Moulavi, whose meaningful address added a spiritual highlight to the occasion.

Children positioned along the route distributed sweets, spreading joy among participants and onlookers alike.

The parade served as a heartfelt reminder of Islamic traditions and values, beautifully illustrating the blessings and importance of Ramadan while fostering community spirit and religious awareness among the younger generation. CA
