YMMA Conference joins with civil bodies in flood relief work in the hills

COLOMBO:  All Ceylon YMMA Conference  DMU , JJ Foundation and Eclat Unites Sri Lanka jointly organized  relief work for the flood affected people in the  Nawalapitiya and Gampola  areas in  a phased manner from the day after the disaster.

 Under the Guidance of  of National President Saheed M Rismy  and JJ Foundation Chairman Dr  Haneef

 Coordinated by Young leader Ihthisam Mohamed District Director ,Kandy and  the contributions of young men and women and undergraduates of  university of Peradeniya  were immense.

  07.08.2022 Five phases have been successfully completed.

 In the first phase, on 02.08.2022, Labulkotuwe  has successfully completed the programs of providing food, clothing, dry rations and medicine to the people of Labulkotuwe.

 In the second phase, on 03.08.2022, the program of distribution of dry rations packs and medicines for the affected people in Gampola  area was given under the responsibility of Chief Inspector of  Police .

In the third phase, on 04.08.2022, clothes and bedding and cleaning supplies were provided to the people of Labul Kottuwa and Salem Bridge.

In the 4th phase on 05.08.2022, clothes and bed arrangements were provided to the people of Mahagampura Bailey Road and Labul Kottuwa area and drinking water was provided.

Phase 5  on 07.08.2022, in collaboration with Navalapidiya Divisional Secretariat a schedule of providing first aid kits and essential medicines to 15 GS division  was held at the Divisional Secretariat.  It was organized in the Divisional Secretariat Auditorium at Nawalapitiya under the leadership of the Divisional Secretary.

Next, arrangements are being made to provide school equipment, uniform students  and household equipment bed mattresses  to flood affected families…

Finally, arrangements are being made to collect and document all the damaged documents through the university students.
