COLOMBO : Significant rainfall has not been reported from Gin River basin during last 24 hours and the high river water levels reported in Thawalama and Baddegama in that river basin have been dropped down considerably, the Hydrology and Disaster Management Division of the Irrigation Department announced here Saturday morning on Oct.14
The risk of flooding in that river is now considerably receding. The flood waters, if remaining still in lowline areas in that river basin, such water will also be gradually draw down soon. Therefore, the Flood Warning issued for the Gin River, by the Hydrology and Disaster Management Division of the Irrigation Department on 28.09.2023 at 9.00 am is hereby withdrawn
