COLOMBO — The Management of Wellawatte Jumma Mosque donated Rs. 1.5 million to purchase the school shoes for students who were affected by recent floods.
Nearly 730 Students of Kahiriya Girls College, Dematogoda, Colombo affected by the recent Floods at Kolonnawa, Megoda Kollonawa, Wellampitiya and neighbouring areas.
The handing over ceremony of the cheque was held under the patronage of Principal of the College Ms. Jumana Nizar at Zam Rifai Hajiar Auditorium, Khairiya Girls College on Wednesday December 17.
On behalf of the mosque management, Deputy Minister of Religious and Cultural Affairs Muneer Mulaffer handed over donation to the Principal of the College Ms. Jumana Nizar at this ceremony.
Director of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Department M.S.M. Nawas along with President of the Wellawatte Jumma Mosque P. Rizvi , Vice President H. M. Zuhair, Deputy Director Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Department M. S. Ala Ahamed, Deputy Ministers Coordinating Secretary L. I. A. M. Shajahan, Deputy Principals, Vice Principals and Students were present.
