COLOMBO : Due to the influence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (the region where the winds coming from the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere converge), the current rain situation in the island is expected to continue.
Occasional showers or thunderstorms occur in most parts of the island.
In some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and Uva provinces, mm. Highs above 100 are also possible.
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the danger caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
