COLOMBO — The Embassy of Viet Nam organized the commemoration of the 135th Birth Anniversary of the late President Ho Chi Minh at Public Library premises on Friday May 19.
It was held under the patronage of Ambassador of Viet Nam Trinh Thi Tam.
Ambassador of Viet Nam , Ministers, Embassy Officials and other guests and invitees paid floral tribute to the late President .
The Minister of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs,who is also the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Viet Nam Parliamentary Friendship Association Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi was present as the chief guest.
Ambassador of Viet Nam Trinh Thi Tam, Minister of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi and Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Vietnam Solidarity Association Sudasinghe Sugathapala addressed the gathering.
Meanwhile Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Vietnam Solidarity Association Sudasinghe Sugathapala launched its website.
Also Viet Nam Embassy presented awards to the winners of Monthly Quiz Competition winner, Art and Essay Competition winners. Colombo Public Library Chief Librarian Mrs. Waruni Gagabadaarachchi presented awards to the winners and Mohamed Iqbal sang a song about late President Ho Chi Minh.
The Quiz Contest organized by the embassy of Viet Nam is being conducted monthly in cooperation with the Colombo foreign ministry and the Colombo Times
Speaker of Parliament Jagath Wickramaratne , Deputy Speaker of Parliament Dr. Rizvi Salih, Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation Bimal Rathnayake , Governor of the Western Province Haniff Yoousf, General Secretary of the JVP Tilvin Silva and Political Party Leaders were also present.photos MSM Saleem
