
COLOMBO : On 17 December, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) delegation, led by the Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, visited the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Viet Nam and presented a humanitarian donation of VND 200 million to support Sri Lanka’s disaster relief and recovery efforts following the recent cyclone “Ditwa”.
The VBS expressed deep sympathy and condolences to the Government and people of Sri Lanka, highlighting compassion, solidarity, and shared Buddhist values that underpin the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
Poshitha Perera, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Viet Nam, conveyed sincere appreciation for the timely assistance, noting its importance as Sri Lanka continues infrastructure restoration and relief efforts. Both sides emphasized that this gesture further strengthens bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing people-to-people and Buddhist exchanges between Viet Nam and Sri Lanka
