Vacationers at the beach, while health officials at bay

COLOMBO – Holiday-makers were having fun at the Mount Lavinia beach on Thursday,April 15 ignoring all health-guidelines meant to prevent the spread of the pandemic, which has affected 95949 and has killed 608 people in Sri Lanka.

On account of the Sinhala/Tamil New Year, a good number of people from the public and private sectors have extended their holidays to enjoy themselves with their families on a long holiday.

Neither the police nor the health officials were seen at the site which allowed the people to enjoy themselves with their families. Prior to the New Year, the government advised people to follow the health guidelines strictly to avoid a third wave of the Covid virus. Sri Lanka has vaccinated around 9,25242 in all parts of the country.
