VAVUNIYA : The Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amana Takaful Life Insurance PLC, on 23rd June ,making a significant milestone in fostering academic–industry collaboration.
The event commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, with participation from key dignitaries including Prof. A. Atputharaja (Vice Chancellor), Prof. Y. Nanthagopan (Dean), Mr. Gehan Rajapakse (CEO, Amana Takaful Life), Mr. S.A. Jude Leon (Head of the Department of Marketing Management ), and Mr. S. Sivanenthira (Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of the MoU), along with other senior officials from both institutions.
The program featured addresses by the Head of Department, Dean, Vice Chancellor, and CEO of Amana Takaful, as well as a MoU briefing by Mrs. K.P.W. Dilhani R. Weerasinghe. The formal signing of the MoU was followed by the presentation of a memento to the CEO.
The event saw the active participation of university leadership, including the Registrar, Bursar, Assistant Registrar, Heads of Departments, students and academic and non-academic staff—demonstrating strong institutional support for this initiative.
This MoU lays the groundwork for collaborative research, student development, knowledge exchange, and industry engagement—strengthening ties between academia and the corporate sector for mutual growth and innovations.
