COLOMBO – Thursday morning was a bad day for train commuters, especially public and private sector employees, students and patients when the railway station masters suddenly staged a strike from 6 am on Thursday till midnight same day.
Stranded train travelers who express disappointment over the uninformed strike said that the strikers do not have a compassion towards the train travelers who depend on the service for their day-to-day work.
An elderly who want to go to Colombo to get some treatment told Colombo Times from the Hunupitiya Railway Station, the strikers nor do the government officials do not understand the effects from the sudden stoppage of public services which cater to the daily life of common man.
