COLOMBO- A row of more than 60 shops, near the Floating Market in Pettah, were demolished by the Urban Development Authority on Monday night.
Colombo Times learned that the shop-keepers were given due notice for vacating the premises and some of them have done so and a few of them have not followed suit.
Most of the shop owners have been given spaces inside the Floating Market located opposite the Pettah Private bus stand.
