
COLOMBO : Dr. Hamoud Al-Afari, Head of the UAE Relief Team, handed over a new shipment of humanitarian aid to the relevant Sri Lankan crisis and disaster management authorities in Kandy, yesterday.
The shipment included food supplies, tents, and relief kits to support those affected by the floods and landslides.
This brings the total humanitarian aid provided to date to 75.6 tons, delivered as part of the UAE’s urgent response to alleviate the suffering of affected families.
Dr. Al-Afari reaffirmed the UAE’s solidarity with the friendly people of Sri Lanka until they fully recover from the impact of this disaster. He noted that UAE efforts and aid will continue in the coming phase to support relief operations and emergency response.
