COLOMBO Two of the three individuals injured in the accident at the Payagala railway crossing have succumbed to their injuries, according Sri Lanka Police.
The accident occurred when a cab collided with a train at the crossing earlier today, resulting in three individuals sustaining critical injuries.
The deceased have been identified as residents of Mahiyanganaya and Molagoda, aged 22 and 28 respectively.
Police stated that the third injured individual is currently receiving treatment at the Nagoda Hospital.
Train services along the coastal railway line were temporarily disrupted following the collision. However, the Sri lanka Railways Department later confirmed that train operations have now been fully restored.
Authorities are conducting further investigations into the incident.
