COLOMBO : ”I convey this note with a sense of deep loss at the passing of Prof Qadri Ismail, in Minnesota, USA. Providence had bestowed us with this prodigious son of literary genius – a rare talent in our community who has been called to rest too soon. His brilliant scholarly publications and daring satirical pieces are unparalleled. Never did he hesitate to call a spade a spade in his disarming erudition and forthright writings.
He made SLMC quite widely known in the English press in its early days as a young journalist. A friend of my Leader Late M.H.M Ashraff, whose friendship quite naturally was extended to me as well. Vividly remember his few visits to my place and his words of praise for my recently published book.
This rare genius of literary prowess will be sorely missed, as a social thinker, an exceptional writer, social reformist and an angry activist who could take on any formidable adversary with the valor of his pen. May his family find the courage to bear this bereavement.
May his soul rest in peace and be bestowed with Jennathul Firdous. Aameen.
