Travel Data Re-opens its office in Beruwela

BERUWELA : Travel Data, one of Sri Lanka’s leading outbound tour companies, reopened its office in Beruwala, marking an exciting chapter in the company’s journey toward its 40th-anniversary celebration next year.

Established in 1985, Travel Data has steadily grown over the past four decades, under the visionary leadership of Chairman Mr. Fuward Jameel.

The reopening of the Beruwala office symbolizes the company’s resilience and readiness to cater to the growing travel demand in the region, following the challenges of the pandemic.
Strategically situated in the heart of Beruwala’s vibrant gem district, the office is located at the China Fort Gem Tower, a renowned center for gem trading.

Beruwala is globally recognized for its gem industry, particularly for producing high-quality sapphires, and has a rich history as a gemstone hub. The China Fort area is a bustling marketplace where merchants from around the world come to trade these prized gems, making it an ideal location for Travel Data to serve both local businesses and international clientele.

As the tourism and business sectors regain momentum, attended by key figures from the local business community, members of the Gem Association, and representatives from international airlines.
Attendees included Rizmi Reyal, Past President of IATA and Chairman of Traveller Global, along with Rashid Alardha, Emirates’ Country Manager for Sri Lanka, and Sales Manager Ms. Devika Ellepola. Also in attendance were Hai Tao Liu, Country Manager of Air China, and Sales Manager Li Jun and Lal Dimantha, Manager of Air France/ KLM/ Kenyan Airways and Air Mauritius. Their presence highlighted Beruwala’s importance as a strategic business hub, connecting local gem merchants with international markets.

Adding to the excitement of the day, Emirates held a special competition, offering one lucky winner a free return ticket to Dubai, showcasing the airline’s support for the business and travel sectors in Sri Lanka.
