COLOMBO – The Sri Lanka Islamic Centre distributed Rs 800,000 worth of gift vouchers to 300 needy families in Maligawatta area to help them celebrate Ramadan and the Eid ul Fitr Festival.
The event was held at the headquarters of the Islamic Centre on Monday, March 16. It took place under the guidance of the Center’s Chairman, Hussain Mohamed.
The Sri Lanka Islamic Centre in Maligawatte offers a range of religious, educational, and community services for Muslims and the wider public. The Centre conducts various programs and initiatives to promote Islamic teachings and enhance community awareness.
The Islamic Centre distributes nearly 1000 dry rations packs every year during the Month of Ramadan. This year they presented gift vouchers to the people of the area to buy their requirements.
Islamic Centre Board of Director Moulavi M.B.M. Zarook, along with other members of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Centre, distributed dry ration packs to the beneficiaries.
