COLOMBO – The Rotary International’s President Rtn. R.Gordon R. McInally concluded his four day official tour with a Banquet Charity Dinner at the Shangri-La Hotel Colombo on Wednesday January 24 enriching a significant milestone in this year’s calendar for the Rotary District 3220 – Sri Lanka and Maldives.
Ajith Weerasinghe, The Chairman of the Organizing Committee delivered the welcome address at the Banquet Charity Dinner denoting the importance of this visit and its influence to the Rotary Community of the District.
Subsequently, The day’s agenda was built upon the foundation of fellowship and engagement. An Intercity meeting prior in the afternoon facilitated direct interaction between President McInally and the Rotarians of the District, fostering connections and strengthening ties between Rotary International and the vibrant Sri Lankan and Maldivian Rotary community. The Intercity meeting was chaired by District Governor Nominee Delvin Pereira.
President, Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan (RCCM) Nahil Wijesuriya received an recognition award from Rotary International Presidential. R.Gordon R. McInally for his contribution to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for one billion through his club.
Rotary International President Director Raju Subramanium, Past Rotary International President K.R Ravindran, District Governor Jerome Rajendram, Past District Governor Krish Rajendran, Immediate Past District Governor Pubudu De Soyza were also present at the Gala Dinner.
