COLOMBO — The Rotaract Club of Colombo North successfully concluded VISION, its flagship TEDx-inspired youth forum, on Friday May 15 at the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM), Colombo. The event brought together a diverse audience of students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders for an evening centred on storytelling, innovation, leadership, and social impact.
The speaker lineup featured Bhanuka Harischandra, Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala, Sithara Maduwanthi (Band lead of Thurya band following their special performance), and Janik Jayasuriya, each sharing personal insights on resilience, ambition, and purpose-driven growth.
More than a speaker forum, VISION served as a fundraising initiative in support of Project Lifestream – Phase 2, aimed at improving access to clean drinking water for underserved communities in Vavuniya, reinforcing the role of youth-led platforms in creating meaningful community impact.
VISION was founded by Rtr. Abdul Hakam in 2025, and within just a short span, the initiative successfully marked its second consecutive edition, setting the foundation for a legacy that aspires to inspire generations for decades to come.
VISION was conceptualized by Rtr. Abdul Hakam and led by Event Chairpersons Rtr. Vinuth Siriwardana and Rtr. Leena Yogarajah, under the leadership of President Rtr. Subashi Tania of the Rotaract Club of Colombo North.
The event also proudly featured Rtn. Marshad Barry, adding further value and inspiration to the experience.
