The new Hajj Committee is set to take off under the guidance of minister of Buddhasaasana

COLOMBO:  The Hajj pilgrimage from Sri Lanka will be carried out under the guidance of  Vidura Wickramanayaka, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, who has appointed the new Hajj Committee to carry out its functions this year.

The new Hajj committee is headed by retired career diplomat, Ibrahim Sahib Ansaar with Ahkam Uwais, Ifhas Nabuhan ,Millfer Gafoor and Nibraz Nazeeer as its members .

On Friday, Minister Wickremanayake held talks with the new Hajj Committee members along with the new director of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Faisal Abdeen and the Haj Travel operators to make arrangements for the upcoming Hajj season.

President of the The All Ceylon Hajj Tour Operators Association Rizmi Reyal told Colombo Times that the new committee headed by the new Hajj committee chairman Ansar will ensure smooth Hajj operations in 2023 by virtue of Ansar’s previous experience. Reyal also expressed his thanks to the Minister and assured him of his continuous support and cooperation for the year 2023 also.

All Ceylon Hajj Tour Operators Association and their members expressed their fullest support to the New Hajj Committee and shall commit everyone to be transparent, which in turn will contribute to a better Hajj in 2023.
