COLOMBO — The Lasallian Annual Prize Giving 2026 – Phase III of De La Salle College, Colombo, was held on Wednesday, August 5, at the college premises, with Dr. V. Janagan, Chairman and CEO of IDM Nations Campus International, as the Chief Guest. Rev. Dr. S. Chandru Fernando, Coordinating Secretary for Religious Affairs to the former Prime Minister of Sri Lanka and Ambassador of the United Nations Council of Music and Education, attended as the Guest of Honour.
The annual prize-giving ceremony celebrated the academic, sporting, cultural, leadership and extracurricular achievements of the students and staff of De La Salle College. Students and staff members who demonstrated excellence and commitment during the academic year were presented with prizes and certificates in recognition of their accomplishments.
Welcoming the Chief Guest, the Principal of De La Salle College, Bro. R. J. Jeyakanthan FSC, expressed his appreciation for Dr. Janagan’s outstanding contribution to education and his vision of creating greater opportunities for Sri Lankan youth.
The Principal highlighted Dr. Janagan’s extensive experience and expertise in education, particularly in the fields of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and emerging technologies. He also commended IDM Nations Campus International for introducing educational programmes designed to meet the evolving needs of Sri Lankan students.
The ceremony was attended by members of the De La Salle Brothers, education officials, teachers, parents, old boys, students and other distinguished guests.
