KHALID BIN HAMOUD ALKAHTANI
COLOMBO
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to solidify its leading position in the field of humanitarian work, based on a firm and deeply rooted approach founded on the values of giving, human solidarity, and taking responsibility towards affected populations around the world, without discrimination or considerations other than human dignity and the right to a decent life.
In 2025, the Kingdom achieved a remarkable international accomplishment by ranking second globally and first in the Arab world in providing humanitarian aid among donor countries, in addition to topping the list of the largest supporters of the Yemeni people. This clearly reflects its ongoing commitment to its humanitarian and ethical role on the international stage.
This distinction is a result of the efforts of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, the Kingdom’s humanitarian arm. The Center has implemented relief and development programs and initiatives in dozens of countries, contributing to alleviating the suffering of millions of beneficiaries through highly professional and transparent institutional work, and close coordination with international partners and UN organizations.
This active humanitarian presence embodies the Kingdom’s vision, which believes that strengthening international security and stability begins with addressing humanitarian crises, supporting development paths, and investing in people, as the cornerstone of any sustainable future. It also underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to working with the international community to build effective humanitarian responses that go beyond immediate relief to long-term solutions.
In this context, the Kingdom’s support for the brotherly Yemeni people remains a clear example of its humanitarian commitment. This support has continued across various health, food, education, and development sectors, stemming from its fraternal responsibility and its commitment to alleviating human suffering and contributing to creating the necessary conditions for stability and peace.
This advanced humanitarian approach comes with the generous support and direct guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the diligent follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who have made humanitarian work a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom’s policy and an effective tool for promoting the values of peace and cooperation among nations.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the almighty God’s help, will continue to play its leading humanitarian role, stemming from its international responsibility and deeply rooted values, affirming that it will always remain a support for humanity wherever it may be, and a reliable partner in building a more compassionate and hopeful world.
