The Iranian feature film “No Prior Appointment”, depicts the importance of family bonds, human relationships

COLOMBO — The Iranian feature film “No Prior Appointment”, a production of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was screened on Wednesday, August 19 at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) in Sri Lanka.

The film, which explores themes such as family, the importance of family bonds, and human relationships, received considerable attention from the audience.

During the programme, Alireza Shahini, representing the Iran Culture Center, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, provided an overview of Iranian cinema and highlighted the artistic and thematic characteristics of the film. He also referred to the existing cultural and artistic potential in relations between Iran and Sri Lanka, noting that Iranian cinema is not merely a form of entertainment, but also a means of viewing society from different and fresh perspectives.

Ms. Tharanga Jayaweera from the Bandaranaike Centre also spoke on the occasion, highlighting various aspects of Iranian culture and arts. She expressed her appreciation to the Iran Culture Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran for its cooperation in jointly organising cultural, educational, and artistic programmes with the Bandaranaike Centre.
