The Canadian Chamber of Commerce ( CanCham ) Sri Lankal, announces its official opening

COLOMBO — The Canadian Chamber of Commerce ( CanCham ) Sri Lanka is proud to announce its official opening, dedicated to fostering economic growth, supporting local businesses, and providing robust and advocacy for the business community. An official ribbon cutting ceremony and launch event was held on Thursday March 05 at the new premises No 67, Horton Place, Colombo 07.

The mission of the chamber is to empower local businesses, drive sustainable economic development, and provide a strong voice for our members. We look forward to partnering with local government, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to build a thriving connected business environment.

CanCham Sri Lanka will offer services including networking events, business development resources, policy advocacy and community promotion.

High Commissioner for Canada in Sri Lanka Isabelle Martin High Commissioner for Canada in Sri Lanka The patron of the CanCham Sri Lanka, was the chief guest and Jean- Christian Brilliant, Director General South Asia, Global Affairs, Ottawa Canada was the guest of honor.

The distinguished guests who participated comprised of senior trade commissioner from the Canadian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka and senior representatives of BOI, EDB and other business leaders from prominent corporate sectors.

CanCham Sri Lanka encourages businesses to join or register with the chamber. Sri Lanka is proud to become the newest member of the 22 very active chambers of commerce in the Indo- Pacific region with great collaboration and support from global affairs Canada. The chamber will serve as the strategic regional office coordinating economic activities, primarily South Asia (SAARC Countries) and other regional economic block to foster economic cooperation and provide a platform to explore business / investment opportunities.

As the chamber opens the doors to this office, they are inaugurating a new chapter for local business to work with Canada. With the collaboration of the Canadian High Commission in Sri Lanka they aim to make the chamber a place to grow our community’s target audience.

The membership programs and trade insights will help the business community to accomplish tangible results. CanCham Sri Lanka will link startups and seasoned companies. The chamber is poised to play a pivotal role as a robust advocate, fostering and strengthening economic partnership between Canada and Sri Lanka.
