COLOMBO — The Ananda Balika Vidyalaya organised an Education Exhibition, where it launched a book to mark the 100 years of School on Wednesday April 9 at the school premises. It was held under the patronage of the Principal of the School Mrs.W.B.G. Kumudunie.
Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Nalaka Kaluwewa was present as chief guest.
Senior Lecturer at Department of Sociology & Anthropology of University of Sri Jayewardenepura Praneeth Abeysundara was present as guest speaker of the event.
The ” Abimanawath Siyawasa ” a book written by former Assistant Principal and distinguished old girl Ms. Madhavi Dissanayake and presented the first copy of the book to the chief guest Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Nalaka Kaluwewa by Principal Mrs.W.B.G. Kumudunie. Also Principal presented memento to the chief guest.
In addition, the Old Girls Association UK Branch donated a Smart TV to the school and it was handed over by OGA General Secretary Ruchira Yapa Abeywardena to the Principal at this ceremony.
Deputy Principal, Assistant Principals, Members of the Old Girls Association, Treasurer OGA Ranoja De Silva, former principals, teachers and students were also present at the event..
