COLOMBO — Zahira College Tamil Section had organized Tamil Day on Thursday February 20 at the College Abdul Gaffoor Hall.
The function was held under the patronage of principal of the college Trizviiy Marikar, and Dr. M. C. Rasmin as the chief guest and A.S. Najumuddin as the guest of honor.
There was an award ceremony for students who won Tamil language competitions, various artistic performances, and the release of a book on ancient Sri Lankan history written by Grade 11 student M.F. Abdullah.
The principal, chief guest, guest of honour and Vice-Principal Ash Sheik A.M. Mihlar addressed the gathering.
Vice Principals Mohamed Shazuly, Mohamed Ilham and Mrs. Zeenath Ismail including Head of Primary Mrs. Hasna Iflal , Sectional Heads, teachers, students from Colombo schools participated.
