Supreme Council of Sufi Thareeqas vehemently condemns terrorist attack in NZ

COLOMBO : The Supreme Council of Sufi Thareeqas of Sri Lanka has condemned the recent extremist incident by the lone attacker in Auckland

In a letter addressed to Michael Edward Appleton,High Commissioner of New Zealand in Colombo, the letter further said : “ We firmly believe that this vicious act doesn’t represent any race, religion or nationality but is an act carried out by an extremely condemned ideology which is not accepted or supported by anyone in Sri Lanka.As rightly said by Her Excellency Prime Minister Jacinda Arden,”Itwas carried out by an individual, not a faith, not a culture, not an ethnicity, but an individual person who is gripped by an ideology that is not supported here by anyone.”

New Zealand is a country that showed utmost of tolerance and compassion to its people, regardless of race or color or ethnicity or culture in the recent years with the events it was confronted  with.

We continue to be on your side and our sympathies and prayers are with the nation in this hour of grief. Our thoughts and prayers are withthe victims and their families.”
