COLOMBO: The Sri Lanka national anthem will be recited in both Sinhala and Tamil languages during 75th Independence Day Ceremony on February 4, 2023.
This was announced by cabinet spokesman Bandula Gunawardene told reporters while reporting cabinet decisions on Tuesday on Aug 16
The national anthem was sung in Tamil at official ceremonies during the ‘Good Governance Government’ from 2015 to 2019. The Tamil version was stripped off of the national anthem after former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa took power in 2019.
