‘Sri Lankan youths are highly talented’- Korean Envoy at the Awards Ceremony of Voice of Korea 2022

COLOMBO : The Korean Embassy hosted the Awards ceremony of the Art Competition ‘Voice of Korea 2022’ at the Korean Embassy together with the K-pop Sri Lanka Official fan page, on Friday,August 26. 

Korean Ambassador Santhush Woonjin JEONG addressing the gathering congratulated the winners of this competition, Ms. Sayuri Silva, Ms. Vihangi Fernando, and Ms. S. R. Anjana for their great artistic talents. He further emphasised on the solid cultural cooperation between Korea and Sri Lanka and encouraged all participants to continue to work hard and become precious assets to the friendship between the two countries. Ambassador Santhush stated, ‘It is wonderful to see the great interest shown by young Sri Lankans to learn about the Korean culture. Through your artworks, you have demonstrated your love to Korea. Your creativity and thoughtfulness is inspiring. I hope you continue to love Korean culture, history and traditions. It will leave a significant mark in Korean people’s hearts.’

‘Voice of Korea 2022’ is an Art Competition organised by the K-pop Sri Lanka Official fan page and sponsored by the Korean Embassy. This year, the theme for the art competition was ‘Korea through your eyes’ which attracted many entries nation-wide. Ambassador Santhush awarded winners and participants valuable gifts and certificates for their contribution to promote cultural understanding between Korea and Sri Lanka.

During the Awards Ceremony, K-pop World Festival winner of 2022 Black Thunder impressed the audience with a captivating performance. Also, Ambassador Santhush, the winners, the participants and their family members conducted the “END Violence” campaign, the global SNS campaign to help protect children from all forms of violence.

Korean Embassy secretary Ms. Lim Soyeon and Representative of the K-pop Sri Lanka Official fan page Ms. Gayathri Chandrasiri attended the ceremony.
