COLOMBO :On the early morning of Sunday, October 16, leaders and representatives from 13 political parties and 5 friendship associations in Sri Lanka joined H.E. Qi Zhenhong, Ambassador of China to Sri Lanka at a function in the Shangri-la Colombo and witnessed the live broadcasting of the Opening of the 20th National Congress of Communist Party of China.
They watched H.E. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, on behalf of the 19th CPC Central Committee, delivered to the Congress a report titled “Hold High the Great Banner of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and Strive in Unity to Build a Modern Socialist Country in All Respects”. 10 leaders or representatives from different parties or organizations also took interviews with China Central Television (CCTV) and expressed their congratulations, thoughts and opinions towards the Congress and beyond.
