Sri Lankan Day in Lebanon

BEIRUT: The Sri Lanka Day exhibition, street food festival and photography exhibition was held on September 17 at the St. John Chrysostom Cathedral, Achrafiyeh In Beirut:

It was attended by many members from the Lebanese and International communities including ministers, members or the Judiciary, diplomatic community, high officials in Lebanon, and journalists.

It was a colorful event with Sri Lankan music, cultural performances, and many other activities. The visitors were treated to a sumptuous Sri Lankan meal and sweets and an exhibition of photographs of Sri Lanka captured by Professor Bassam Lahoud during his visit to Sri Lanka.

The aim of this exhibition was to promote culture, trade including Gems and Jewelry and tourism,

The Sri Lanka Tea Board provided samples of Ceylon Tea for the exhibition and the Batik and loom designs of rural women in the Maspotha Kurunegala district through the Divisional Secretary – Maspotha. Mrs. Tilani Shashikala Jayasingha of Shashi Looms, Maspotha designed all exhibits
