COLOMBO: On Wednesday Feb.15 the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) arrested a 49-year-old businessman from Galigamuwa, Kegalle on charges of defrauding a Korean national whom he had befriended and tricked into importing a liquid chemical that reduces the emission of toxic fumes and increases engine efficiency.
The Korean national had filed a complaint with the CID alleging that he was defrauded of USD 150,000 (LKR 54 million) by the Sri Lankan businessman who had failed to pay him for the imported chemical.
