Sri Lanka restricts entry visas to Pakistan passport holders but Lankans are given on-arrival visas at the Other End

COLOMBO : At a time, when Sri Lanka is opening up tourism for the entire world, it is ludicrous to see nationals of our friendly Pakistan which had helped to wipe out terrorism from the shores of the island, are denied entry visas to Sri Lanka!
Colombo Times received a complaint from a family with mixed nationals residing in Kuwait that a Pakistani who is married to a Sri Lankan woman was denied entry visa to Colombo for no reason . It is a family of three comprising Sri Lankan mother, daughter and father carrying Pakistani passports!

We also hear that Pakistanis who are living in the island for decades are being given visa only for three months ! Whereas , Sri Lankans traveling to Pakistan are given on-arrival visas for a month.

Pakistan has been a friendly country which has stood with Sri Lanka in good and bad times! Our bilateral relations including trade and defense are strong! It has trained many of our soldiers in various defense facilities in that great country!

A timely intervention by the Sri Lankan government is sought to resolve this problem which if neglected could develop into unwanted unpleasantness between friendly Pakistan and Sri Lanka !

Over to the concerned authorities please !!!’
