COLOMBO : Sri Lanka’s National Consumer Price Index for the month of January 2026 was officially announced.
According to this, the inflation rate, which was reported at 2.9% in December 2025, has decreased to 2.4% in January 2026, as stated by the Department of Census and Statistics.
The target inflation rate for the food category, which was 4.4% in December 2025, has been reduced to 3.4% in January 2026.
The annual inflation rate (target) for the non-food category was 1.6% in December 2025, and this value remains unchanged at 1.6% in January 2026.- The Morning
