In his letter to the president, Hussain Mohamed, who was the former Mayor of Colombo and Sri Lankan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia further recalled “ that my late father Hon M.H.Mohamed (Former Speaker) was associated with you to strengthen the then United National Party.
“We are confident that your leadership and over 45 years experience in the political career will recover the present economic crisis of Sri Lanka within a short period of time and all Sri Lankan to benefit from that under your administration. Our support and blessings will be always with you.”
